Checklist to help Owners in cost savings!

• PROVIDE information accurately, reliably and quickly

• REDUCE unnecessary communication

• MONITOR ship's operations continously and attentively

• AVOID standbys and delays e.g. dockage penalty**, etc

** This refers to the penalty levied by the Port Authority on a vessel which does not unberth within 2 hours after completion of discharge. This is particularly important especially the penalty dockage is about 5 times the normal dockage rate. Therefore, if the Agent fails to monitor the operations closely, unnecessary charges will be incurred and this will be for Owners' account and not receivers.

• CHECK all suppliers' bills to ensure correct pricing and validity

• ENSURE "on-time" application for services e.g. pilot, tug hire, berth etc.

• GOAL - to push for quick turnaround of vessels
