Regular groupage services are available from Singapore to Mauritius and South Africa. More areas will be covered through tie-ups with overseas agents/partners in the near future. We issue our own House Bills of Lading and FIATA Multimodal Transport Bills of Lading as well. Our cargo liabilities are covered by insurance, which is a prerequisite for membership with the Registry of Multimodal Transport Operators, which is a registry administered by the Singapore Logistics Association (formerly known as Singapore Freight Forwarders Association) and censured/supported by the Singapore Trade Development Board. We are proud that we are one of the 50+ forwarders in Singapore in this Registry.
Being located in one of the best transhipment points in this region, RAPID is well placed to serve overseas Principals and agents. With our good contacts locally, we are able to secure the best possible pricing and also to ensure that proper care and attention is given so as to achieve a quick turnaround. Currently, we receive groupage containers from Indonesia, USA, China, India, Pakistan, Mauritius etc with mixed cargo for on-carriage to all over the world. We handle FCL, LCL as well as breakbulk cargoes.
Since our incorporation we have handled from small fishing vessels to bulk carriers that call at Singapore for all types of operations. These include loading/discharging of cargo (especially bulk cargo of rice, salt, animal fees, cement, clinker etc), drydocking, bunkering, afloat repairs, crew changes, etc.
Both of our Directors have been in the ship agency business for the last 25 years and we are well equipped to ensure that our Principals' interests are of utmost importance and protected. Being a small organisation, we are flexible and able to react quickly and swiftly to any problems that may arise during the vessel's stay in port and we are always available on call 24hrs a day to the vessels and Principals.
Besides handling the normal project cargo movement such as shipyard equipment, generators, etc we also act, on an exclusive basis, on behalf of a European principal who specialises in the handling and salvaging of distress cargoes and vessels. This involves the ship-to-ship transfer of complete shipload of upto 175,000mt bulk cargo like iron ore, soya bean meal, steel as well as bagged cargo. We provide manpower, ship agency and related support services like liaison with government and port authorities as well as logistics.
As a Tradenet and Portnet subscriber, we are on-line with the relevant Government agencies to process documentation electronically for the clearance of goods to/from the port. As such, we offer an efficiet and reliable service. Our staff are trained and they are familiar with the local Customs regulations. This means we can ensure that the goods are cleared promptly and without infringing any Government Regulations.
In order to offer a total service, we are sufficiently geared to assist our clients in the warehousing and transportation needs. Through our good relationship with the carefully selected warehouse and transport service providers, we ensure that our clients are given the most competitive and reliable service. We offer only the best for our customers by laying down stringent rules for the warehouse and transport service providers to comply.
Through our good relationship with first class insurance companies, we are able to obtain insurance cover for marine, hull and machinery of vessels and other marine and cargo related risks at competitive and favourable terms.
